Self-onboard as consumer

When Consumer App is installed on their smartphone, an unregistered consumer can onboard themselves. Consumer App guides them through a quick sign-up process of supplying the minimum KYC data required by the e-money provider. This creates an account with limitations appropriate to their low KYC level. They can choose to increase their KYC level later in the app.

As soon as they complete the sign-up steps, they're ready to log in and get started.

Practising alongside? You'll need:

  • A smartphone
  • Consumer App installed
  • Access to the system that retrieves one-time PINs (if your mobile network provider doesn't support receiving SMS messages from the e-money system)

STEPS

1. Open Consumer App and select Sign Up.

The Welcome screen displays.

2. Enter your full name and mobile number.

Note: Depending on the app's configuration, the mobile number area code may be pre-populated.

3. Select Next.

The system generates a one-time PIN (OTP). If set up to, it will send this to your phone number via SMS. Otherwise, you can find this in your system back end.

4. Enter your OTP and select Next.

The provider's terms and conditions display.

5. Review the terms and select the option to confirm that you agree.

6. Select Next.

The Set your PIN screen displays.

7. Enter a unique PIN for your account and re-enter to confirm.

8. Select Next.

The system creates a new consumer e-money account, and an associated customer record in Youtap CMS.

9. Finish!

You can now log in to Consumer App with your account ID (mobile number) and PIN.
